STORAGE OF STERILE ITEMS


  • The recommended temperature for sterile storage areas is 75°F (24°C)
  • The area requires at least 4 air exchanges per hour
  • Relative humidity should not exceed 70%
  • Sterile items should be stored 18 inches below the ceiling or level of sprinkler head
  • Sterile items should be stored 8-10 inches above the floor to prevent contamination during cleaning
  • Sterile items should be stored 2 inches from outside walls because of condensation that may form on interior surfaces of outside walls
